3D Bike Fitting

3-dimensional bike fitting is a system of measurement using high-speed cameras to track a cyclist riding their bike in real time, and importantly, looking at the range of motion of each joint through the cycling gait. This allows the fitter to make ergonomic decisions based on your complete cycling gait analysis.

The 3-dimensional bike fitting system allows for real-time tracking of an individual cycling. This is only part of the comprehensive process of bike fitting. We also take measurements of your anatomy, flexibility, strength, and perceptual feedback around the cycling experience when fitting you to your bike. Importantly, all fitting processes allow for a follow-up bike fit to ensure you are adjusting and adapting to your position optimally.

The fitting process can take around 2 hours to complete. Through the consultation process, we take functional assessments, encourage personal feedback, look at the desired outcome for the individual (pain reduction, aerodynamics, power production, etc.) then fit the individual based on the desired end result. The fitting process involves the use of this information, whilst tracking changes in joint angles in real-time cycling, to then provide a position based on all information. This is then reviewed to ensure a goodness of fit several weeks post-fitting.

The standard bike fit is for a 2-hour duration, owing to intricacies pertaining to different bike designs and adjusting them; fitting occurring beyond the 2-hour duration is charged at an additional hourly rate.

We require you, your bike, any spare parts required to fit the bike, and your cycling shoes/clothing.

Yes, anyone can do a 3D bike fitting assessment: Road, Mountain, Time Trial, Flat bar, Cyclocross, and other types of bikes can be fitted.
